Earlier this year I posted a list of my goals here on the blog. One of the goals I was most excited about was the idea of attending a photography workshop. Over the years I’ve gone to several meet-ups and seminars and made a handful of really incredible photographer friends to share life and learn with but it’s been, I think, since 2009 when I flew up to Vancouver to intern under Jamie Delaine that I actually went to a workshop to learn specifically from a photographer I admire.
Less than 3 weeks after I blogged my goals Danielle Capito, a photographer I love, posted that she was going to be hosting her very first photography workshop in San Luis Obispo… a town I love! How could I say no to that?! ;] So the morning of March 22nd I pulled into the Flying Caballos Ranch to spend 12 hours learning and growing as a photographer alongside 8 other incredible women.
One of the things I was most excited about Danielle’s workshop is that we were going to take some time to actually get outside and shoot. [Instead of just sitting around inside talking about shooting.] Through the day we had 2 styled shoots the first one I’m so excited to share with you today is an engagement styled session that we shoot right at noon… and if you’re a photographer you know how hard it is to find good light midday! It was actually really fun to look at light at a different time of day since the majority of my sessions happen at sunset. And huge shoutout to Janine & Mikey for being our incredible models they were AWESOME, I would not have handled having 10+ cameras pointed my direction well but they were incredible!
I am obsessed with Janine’s outfit. I want all of my clients to wear boot socks. Seriously.Huge thank you again to Janine & Mikey for being our models and for being adorable and to the Flying Caballos Ranch for hosting us!
