Alexis: Thousand Oaks Lifestyle Photographer

lifestyle

I always say that Alexis is my most difficult client, she never does what I tell her, she has the worst fake smiles, and she always give me a hard time. I photographed Alexis last weekend while we were away at women’s retreat and last night and this morning as I was sorting through her photos I realized something I’d never really thought of before: she is, hands down my most difficult client but it’s not for the reasons I listed above… because really, she gives me a hard time every day not just on photoshoot days. ;]

It’s hard for me to capture all of who she is in one photograph. In one session, even in the best light, I can’t showcase how we sit on her couch on Friday afternoons and completely veg-out to episode after episode of Gilmore Girls, or how she laughed at me the day I ran barefoot in the rain from her car to the grocery store holding Zoe and my shoes under my sweater so my flats wouldn’t get ruined, or how over cups of coffee we used to sit in her kitchen and talk about life and dreams, or how magical it is that she lives next door, or our late night walks where where she listens to all of my crazy business ideas. In one image, it’s hard to show that when she snuggles Zoe [or Jack, or Phoebe, or Noah.. or Steven] she’s the mother and wife I hope to be like. No matter how many photographs I capture of Alexis I’ll never be able to fully show how incredibly proud of her I am and how excited I am for the ways God has already and is in the future going to use her.

She is still, hands down, my most difficult client but because it’s impossible to fit every moment and memory I have with her in to a one hour photo session. I love you, Alexis. ♥

My favorite. ♥

I wasn’t lying when I said she’s difficult so here’s a little “ugly face” collage to prove it. I love this lady.
