Alexis: maternity

Maternity

It’s funny to me that of all the times I have offered to take pictures of this lady, this blog post is the *first* time she’s been featured alone on my blog. Over the last 2 years I’ve begged her to model for me on *so* many occasions; like the time we got to our “location” only to realize I forgot my memory cards at home. Or the time we just decided all lighting everywhere was terrible and gave up, you know, instead of looking for the light and using it creatively. I’ve come a long way since those days. Besides just modeling for me Alexis has sat me down at her kitchen table, computer desk, couch, and living room floor and taken countless notes helping me plan photoshoots, design my blog, and bounce any ideas I’ve had off her. Stacee Lianna Photography would not be where it is or heading in the direction it’s going without all her help and support. That’s the truth.

I wish I could tell you the exact day I found out Alexis was pregnant with her 5th baby, Zoe Gabriele. I can’t remember. It was a Wednesday night, and I was dropping something off at her house after church. I sat in my car in front of her driveway talking to her through the window. When she said “I have something to tell you” with the most genuine smile my eyes filled with tears, much like they are now. I just knew. God heard the most desperate prayers of so many people for this baby and my heart was happy.

I remember waiting anxiously for a phone call to find out if this precious baby was a boy or a girl as I drove through Colorado earlier this summer. Standing in the parking lot of a Subway on speaker phone with Steven and Alexis I cried again when I found out for sure that I would be meeting Zoe in November. A girl. It’s a girl.

86 more days until we get to meet Zoe. I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve felt her kick, heard her heartbeat, in 2 weeks I get to see her ultrasound, and I’ve seen a family come together *so* eager to meet their new daughter and sister.

Here is Alexis at 6 months pregnant ♥

In case you haven’t noticed The Anderson family is incredibly special to me so I couldn’t think of a better way to debut my new logo than with pictures of one of my favorite people. It makes me so happy! 😀 And I have to give a HUGE thank you to Heather who has been working SO hard on my logo, blog, and website. Hire her. You will *not* be disappointed.

awww you are gorgeous Alexis! Thank you Stacee for the lovely comment.

I know I know I'm going to get flamed for this one, but I would have LOVED to see a photo of Alexis looking straight at the camera (and the one in the water fountain doesn't work even as much fun as that looked 😉 )
