Creative Connection LA: personal
I’ve shared a few times about how nervous I get when I go to meet ups with other photographers. This shouldn’t be news to anyone. Really, everyone should just be fully aware that I get nervous before I do anything. It’s just what I do. When I decided to go the Creative Connection LA meet up I was nervous, as usual, but I was a little distracted from my nerves because my thought process was more along the lines of “If I’m going to go to this meet up I really need to buy cute boots. I think every creative person owns a pair of cute boots… I need cute boots… and cuter clothes.” I didn’t get cute boots, or cuter clothes. ;]
As I walked towards the Tea Exchange on Saturday morning I kept asking Alexis “why are we heeeeeere???”, in an annoying whiny voice, the nerves got to me, she said something that struck me. She said, I don’t know why we’re here, but the bible study that we’re doing keeps telling us over and over that if women put aside their differences and band together we can make a difference in the world. So spending Saturday morning hanging out with a group of women is probably where we need to be [or something brilliant along those lines]. I was struck by how wonderful the idea of this group is. It’s not a group of photographers, it’s a group of creative people. There’s no exclusivity, if you’re creative, you can come! It’s for bloggers, designers, photographers, event planners, social media gurus, marketers, fashionistas, bakers, writers, actors; female creatives. Ladies who are wanting to put aside the competition that often comes with creative jobs like these and support each other. I love that.
Big thanks to the wonderful women who put this event together. Emilee, Joanna, Lizzie, and Kathy.

Looking at the picture of the stacked tea cups and pearls as well as the tea cup with forks… I immediately thought I cant wait until I have my own house and I have a kitchen & dinning room and can buy pictures like these from you to decorate the room with. Your improvement is amazing your photography beauty!
that is SO weird i have no idea why your comment posted like that either! but i still read it ;] and i fixed it! forget counting down the days till you buy photographs to decorate your house! count down the days until you can stack your own tea cups and fill them with pearls just because you want to!
i can’t wait to move out.
