Martha: San Francisco Lifestyle Photography

lifestyle

I think I’d met Martha once, like officially met her and spent time with her, not had her pointed out to me in a room full of kids at alumni jeopardy. It was last last summer and we both sat on the floor in the Anderson living room and in our awkward way we said approximately 2 words to each other. But that immediately meant we were friends.

Earlier this year when I found out I’d be shooting a wedding in San Francisco and that my friend Jennie was going to be able to come along, the first thing I did was message Martha, who’s living up north right now while she attends Stanford University, and ask her if she’d grace our cameras with her presence. Upon arriving in San Francisco Jennie and I would BOTH be shooting with new cameras and any extra minutes of practice time before a wedding was totally needed. I still cringe a little because my MarkIII makes a different noise, it takes me awhile to warm up to new things, okay!!

The entire time Martha and I talked about where we would meet, and what she should wear and how she should paint her nails ;] we ended every message with: this is going to be soooo awkward, but I’m SO excited!! Girls are so weird. The funny thing is, once Jennie and I finally found parking, after like 6 hours of searching, and the 3 of us met up it wasn’t awkward at all. We talked and laughed and wandered and I think the only awkward part came when we stood outside Giants Stadium for a minute because we could feel the judgement of Mr. Anderson all the way from Los Angeles. ;]

Marfa, thank you SO much for riding the train up to meet us, and braving a potentially awkward situation to help Jennie and I out. I so appreciate it and I so appreciate you and our friendship. Thank you thank you thank you!!! ♥

She has the BEST smile and laugh.

I love the picture on the left, the sun flare is AMAZING and I love that Martha’s face is like um… Stacee you’re insane. ;]

Who knew that my favorite picture would be of me sitting on a cement parking block, looking at the ground, somewhere in SF? Only you Stacee! <3 Oh and I'm totally looking at you like you're crazy… 😛

… looking at Stacee like she’s crazy, *and* looking at both of us saying, “WHO am I supposed to be looking at now?!?” Thank you so much Martha!
