Forest Maternity Photography // It’s Wednesday and I have a few things to say. First, can we just take a moment to appreciate that I’ve blogged every week for a month? I’m RIDICULOUSLY proud of myself over this fact. Even if no one is reading these. I’m still doing it. I don’t even care. 😉 Secondly, Survivor is on tonight. The only TV show I watch live. Best night of the week!

Thirdly, I’m very excited to share this maternity session with you today for several reasons. This family is so dear to my heart so of course there’s that. But also this forest maternity session was one of the first times I picked up a film camera in over a year. So crazy to think about that!

I spent 2016 & 2017 shooting a roll or two of film at every shoot and wedding, dabbling with the idea of being a film photographer. Then in 2018 I took a big step back and put my Contax 645 in a safe spot on my desk and basically let it collect dust for a full year. Until now.

You’ll find some film shots sprinkled in through this post, I got the scans back from The FIND Lab yesterday. As you’re scrolling through if you can pick out the film, just know that the photos are so beautiful they make me mad. Which makes absolutely no sense but it’s 100% true. I was totally fine giving up film until I got these scans back. The struggle is so real.
