Taylor Swift’s new single comes out tonight so obviously instead of working I’m sitting at my desk reading Buzzfeed and listening to Red on repeat. Obviously. 😉 So to feel better about myself I’m going to share this Badlands National Park session I photographed last month.

At the end of July I traveled in the most round about way to visit family in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I flew from LAX to Denver. Rented a car, drove from Colorado through Nebraska and on to South Dakota. Of course pulling off at random roadside attractions along the way. The way all road trips should be. I’ll blog about all the crazy traveling soon, first I need to get my last roll of film from the trip developed… since I just found it in my camera bag the other day.

Before I made it to the Black Hills I made a detour to Badlands National Park. In typical Stacee fashion even though I was going to visit the forest I had to find the most desert location and photograph a couple. MILA. Sami & I connected because I found her Rapid City boutique called S & Company on Instagram before the trip and she and her boyfriend DJ agreed to drive down to the Badlands and get in front of my camera. I’m beyond happy they did because I LOVE these shots!!

Give me a couple willing to laugh and cuddle in front of my camera and I am a happy camper! Drop them in to a desert-y National Park and I am basically in heaven. Keep scrolling and I’m sure you’ll agree. ♥
