Joshua Tree Engagement Photos // The other night I was driving home around sunset. Sitting at a red light I was distracted by the sun, the long shadows, the warm colors. I was a little caught off guard because as I took it all in I felt like I needed to be outside taking pictures. The light was too good to miss. I wanted to be in it. Sometimes it’s easy for photography to be a job– obviously a job that I love, but a job just the same. A few days later I made the trek to my beloved Joshua Tree for Priscilla & Alex’s engagement session. Surrounded by sunshine and big laughs and everything desert I thought about watching that sunset from my car and how badly I wanted to be in it. And how thankful I was, at that moment, actually in it. I love that photography is woven into who I am. That even after nearly 10 years I still long to be behind the camera.
Enough about me. Priscilla and Alex drove all the way to my favorite place for their Joshua Tree engagement photos and that makes them the very best! When we first started talking about their engagement session they asked about my favorite places to shoot. Of course I said Joshua Tree. Of course. 😉 I also threw out local to LA locations as well and let them know they had plenty of time to make their decision and I was up for anything. Clearly they picked my fave. Love it!
I can’t wait to laugh with these two when I photograph their February wedding. ♥
