My Family: Sturgis, South Dakota Family Photographer
Why is it that you always need a vacation after your vacation? I stumbled in the door after 12:30 last night, home from a turnaround trip to South Dakota and right about now, I would give almost anything to spend the whole day in pajamas. New pajamas. Christmas Eve present pajamas.
Unfortunately that is not the way my day is going to go. Oh well, I’ll sleep in sometime next week ;]
During my incredibly short trip [think, 2 and a half days traveling for 1 and a half days relaxing] I did 2 things. 1. Read 2/3rds of The Hunger Games series, seriously, I’m SO excited to be home, I fully intend on spending the entire evening after work tonight starting, enjoying, and finishing Mockingjay… and I’ll probably cry. and 2. I got my family in front of my camera. Yesterday afternoon we drove down the road from my grandparent’s house to a big open field, set up a tripod and just went for it. I’m so glad we did. These are the moments memories are made of. When I frame these photos and hang them above our fireplace every time we walk by we’ll laugh. At the million mile-an-hour winds, at sinking into the snow, at freezing to death. Totally worth it.

This is the money shot. ♥
