When I first heard from Jona my heart broke, she emailed me to ask if I would take professional photos of her and her husband. They were just married and had hoped to come away from their wedding day with beautiful images of them, in love, on the best day of their lives. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen and my heart breaks for people who walk away from their weddings with no photographs, I can’t stress enough how important it is to hire a photographer you trust. Thankfully, Jona and Scott’s friends saw there was a need and pooled every camera at the wedding to try and salvage their memories. Everyone needs friends like that!!

Last weekend I was so excited to be able to meet up with Jona and Scott for a session to document them. Every couple needs that. We walked around the neighborhood near where Jona grew up and they got to wander around and just be themselves and enjoy one another. Those sessions are the best. ♥

We were shooting on the steps of the apartment building in the photos above when a resident came home… and totally invited us inside the building! But before everyone freaks out it wasn’t Criminal Minds status, she just showed us the hall and the fun carpet ;]

I love when my clients decide to pamper themselves a little and get their hair and makeup done. It just makes the day that much more special, so a huge thank you to Shirley at SP Glam who helped make Jona extra pretty.
