A few weeks ago I went on a turn around trip to Phoenix, Arizona. When I got on a plane at LAX early that morning I was feeling pretty legit, on some imaginary list of “Ways To Know You Have Made It” I thought flying to a new city for a day just to shoot a session had to be very near the top. It had to be. ;] That night, as minutes ticked well past midnight, I rode on a shuttle from LAX to my car and I still don’t think I’ve been able to shake that overwhelming feeling of exhaustion. But would I do it again? In a heartbeat!

I met Jocelyn & Jonah at DC Ranch Market Street in Scottsdale right before sunset. Perfection! There is something magical about shooting somewhere new with a couple I’ve never met, and when you add in one of the prettiest sunsets I have ever seen it’s literal magic. I had so much fun wandering around Market Street and in the desert with these two, we laughed a lot and if it wasn’t for Jocelyn there would probably still be cactus in my foot. Who would have thought using a rock to remove cactus is way smarter than using your hand… clearly I’m not from Arizona. ;]

Jocelyn found me on facebook and when she heard that I was going to be in her home state she decided to book me for a shoot to celebrate her and Jonah’s 2 year dating anniversary. LOVE that!!
I’m kind of afraid of cactus now. I think it’s allowed. This is the last photo I shot before there was cactus in my foot… see those little balls of cacti… one of those went in to my foot… I have to admit though, the sunset made it totally worth it.
I can’t end this blog post without giving a HUGE shout out to Jenna, she drove Jocelyn & Jonah 2 hours from their home to meet me at DC Ranch for their shoot! That is a GOOD friend! ♥
