It’s just Thursday: personal
Today is an exciting day. Not because anything exciting is happening, just because it’s today.
I think it was the 5th day of August when I stood in the driveway between my house and the house of my favorite family talking to Alexis about how August was practically over. Because it was already so close to the 15th and the 15th means August is half over which basically means it’s over over. And there in less than 48 hours I had completely bypassed an entire month. Typical Stacee. I do it every month, but it’s not because I’m not excited for what’s happening in the moment, it’s because I get so excited for what’s coming in the future it’s hard for me to contain it.
Since personal posts have been few and far between on this blog lately [and really who am I kidding that should say posts. Period.] I thought, on this Thursday afternoon on the 15th day of August, now that the month is actually half over, I would take the time to be in the moment and remember some things I’m excited about or that have made me smile.
On Sunday I was giggling and snuggling on the couch with Zoe, as she brought me book after book after book to read to her I asked, “Zoe, who is your aunt?” She got the biggest smile on her face and said “YOU ARE!” My heart exploded. Right there in the living room.
Tuesday was the first day of school at Da Vinci Schools and I was there to photograph it all. Incredible. There is absolutely nothing like a group of 30 people crowded in the hall ready to cheer in their students for the 2013-2014 school year shouting “Season 5!!” in unison. I swear every time I go to Da Vinci I almost burst in to tears. Last night first day of school photos went viral on Facebook and everyone’s excitement for the year and for the images filled my newsfeed. I went to bed smiling. ♥
I don’t want to jinx it but at this very moment I am closer than I’ve ever been to finishing my rebrand. My website is completely done and we’re working on my new blog design now. It has been a long looooooooong time coming and I’m excited to be done and to finally launch something new.
Before the end of the day I should be getting an email from the FIND Lab with the scans from the rolls of film I sent to them from when I rented a Contax 645. I am beside myself with fear and excitement! Fear because I could have done absolutely everything wrong even though I read the camera manual like 18 times to make sure I was doing everything correctly and excitement because if I did use it correctly I cannot wait to see the results!!!! There’s something magical about film and I loved having a Contax to pretend was mine for 9 full days.
AND in 16 days I will be getting on a plane heading to San Francisco to photograph a wedding in the city. I think this is my first and much awaited plane ride of the year. 😀 😀
Now, I’m getting ready to spend a few hours with the kiddos. Phoebe is getting a hair cut [don’t worry there will be pictures to follow. ;)] so I’ll be spending the afternoon having Mario Kart tournaments with Jack and watching episodes of Dora the Explorer with Zoe. But no post is complete without a picture so here’s a little preview of Rachel & Alex’s wedding coming to the blog next week. ♥
Happy Thursday everyone! What’s making you excited today?

At last some raittnaloiy in our little debate.
