Joshua Tree Wedding Photography // Julia & Connor

weddings

Joshua Tree Wedding Photography // I’m just going to start crying now. Ok? Ok. I’ve been photographing weddings for over 10 years now and every “off season” I always say I’m going to shoot for myself while I have the time. Spoiler alert: I never do this. I always find other ways to fill my time with work and non-creative things. It’s the worst.

This year I wanted to change that. And this shoot with Julia & Connor in my most beloved location is a step in the right direction. Alongside 6 other photographers we left LA to desert adventure it up and photograph something beautiful for fun not for work. It gave life to my soul in a way I didn’t even realize until I was looking at these images after the fact.

Our couples started in regular/”engagement” session clothes [I’ll be sharing those sometime soon-ish] and then closer to sunset they switched over to some wedding goodness. As I scrolled through the engagement styled images I just had the biggest smile on my face. I often laugh while I’m editing because my couples are laughing in the photos. This shoot was no exception. But then I got to the wedding portion of images and my eyes just filled with tears. I have fallen head over heels for the desert. It gives me life like nowhere else. The few minutes I spent with Julia & Connor in my favorite place as the sun set was just the refresh I didn’t even know I needed.

I need to make time to do this more throughout the year. Someone hold me accountable to that. ♥
