Phoebe: Lomita Lifestyle Photographer

A few weeks ago California had some weird weather. First it was abnormally cold for January, like, 33° in the morning when I leave for the gym. So cold my car warned me to watch out for ice on the road– in Southern California! Then, a week later it was 90°. And let me tell you, you’ve never seen so many unhappy people on Facebook as during those weeks. The too cold and too hot complaints were everywhere. Oh, California. ;]

Then I made the mistake of saying out loud, “I don’t care what the temperature is, as long as the skies stay clear and the sun is shining it can be 30° or 90°.”

And then the sun was gone. 😐

It’s an ongoing joke between several of my friends and I that the sun is my boyfriend, and with all these overcast skies, we have most definitely been fighting. It seemed like for *weeks* every time I had a shoot scheduled the skies would cloud up and the sun would be no where to be found… then the next morning I’d wake up to clear skies. It went on for so long I actually started to believe we were fighting… the sun and I.

This past Monday the sun was shining, and I was ready to stop being mad at my boyfriend, so I asked Pheebs to go on a walk with me and be my model. What better way to make up with the one you’re fighting with than to create a little sun flare?

I started taking pictures of Phoebe when she was 7. She was at my very first photo session and as we were wandering around our neighborhood I was reminded again how blessed I am to be able to do what I love and to be able to document the lives of the people I love. ♥ This little girl isn’t so little anymore.

When she was 7 she thought I was cool, now she just thinks I’m crazy.

It’s hard to be a model. ;]

This is one of my faaavorites!!

This is a real laugh. ♥

You’re right, she isn’t so little. And its weird to think I babysat her when she was so so little.
She is getting more and more beautiful and its so fun to hang out with and watch her mature in youth! I love it <3
    love you Pheebs
